Our SEND Vision

Our SEND Vision at Minster Primary School is to ensure that:

All pupils are: ‘The Best They Can Be’

At Minster it is our belief that all children are unique and all children are special in their own way. We recognise each child as a unique individual with their own personal talents, experiences, learning styles and needs. We value their abilities and achievements, and are committed to provide an effective learning environment which promotes their intellectual and personal development. We aim to enable all children to participate fully in school life and use their Minster Muscles to support their learning superpowers. Children acknowledge that individually we have our strengths but linked together we are even stronger.

Meet our Inclusion Team

At Minster, we work collaboratively to ensure all children receive an inclusive education. We have developed our Inclusion Team to support our vision, pupils, parents and the wider community.

Contact our SENDCo

Please use the form below to send an email directly to our SENDCo, Mrs McIntosh. She will aim to respond to you as soon as possible but please allow three working days for a response. Mrs Kistruck also monitors this inbox and may be able to assist you. If you need to speak to someone to discuss an urgent matter, please call the school office on 01795 872138 and ask to speak to someone from our Inclusion Team.

Parent Survey - The Results

Whilst we are very proud of the outcomes from our SEND Parent survey we have noticed a few areas that need improvement. During this academic year, we will be focusing on updating our website to make it more user friendly and informative, adapting our club offer to provide a range of activities to suit all pupils and investigate alternative methods of communication with our parents and carers as some of you couldn't attend coffee mornings.

Assessments

We offer a range of assessment or screening tools to identify SEND. All assessments are used alongside teacher judgements, senior leadership monitoring and parental views to get the most accurate outcomes for our pupils.
