Assessing Numeracy
The National Curriculum for Numeracy is HUGE! This means that Numeracy teaching often appear to move quite quickly. This is somewhat true but the core skills of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division (and later fractions in Upper KS2) are a consistent thread that teacher weave through almost all topics. Below you will see the 'Kent Tracking Statements' that are used by teachers to plan and assess in order to know where each pupil is and where they need to go. Other sources of information such as TTRS, summative and formative assessments as well as teacher/TA observations all contribute to the teacher's picture of a pupil's progress.
