Assessing Writing
Writing is a ‘teacher assessed’ subject in which teachers use a range of level descriptors to review children’s writing and grade it accordingly. The 'Kent Tracking Statements' below are a key document that teachers use to ensure that children are assessed against the national expectation for their age. Writing has to include a range of genres across both fiction and non-fiction.
It is a national expectation that writing at the end of KS2 is assessed in a secure fit model, this means that all statements must be achieved in order to be assessed at that level.
